I personally thought it was pretty good. You have to have read the book first, though.

Wow man, its a MOVIE. If you dont like it, dont spend money to go see it. Its your choice. Nobody is forcing it down your throat. If others go see it and get the wrong idea, then thats their problem. Ditto...and I can hear it now,"Those cars were tested and they do not put down as much HP as they said they did in the movie". So when I saw T3 did I say something like."those robots were not real....ugghhh....I am so mad". To me it's just a movie too.
I totally agree. It's just a movie. Look at me. I'm a car enthusiast. I love cars so much. I'm only 17 and I'm taking autotech. I've already started looking at jobs at local shops (but age sets you back). I've watched all the fast and furious movies though. And just because I did, doesn't mean I'll race... I might not even modify my car, knowing what I know now about cars...
And just because people go to see it, it doens't mean they are going to see as a way to gain advice on "How to Street Race Illegally." Some people are like me, who go to see it for what cars are in the movie... Just to see what the storyline is actually like. If it's as lame as the second movie's story line, or actually better.
As for the whole "drifting theme..." This movie is suppose to be strictly about drifting... Not glizt... No stuff like neons and a bunch of stickers. And that's a good thing.
If there is anything I can say about the movie that has had a negative impact... It's that people have not accepted the fact that modifying takes time. I see way to many kids buying parts from their local autoparts store... Plastic shift knobs, plastic spinner caps... Large wings... And yes it has brought along a great incline in illegal activity. But like I said... It's like a smoker... No matter how much you tell a smoker how bad it is to smoke, you can't change their mind (Unless you hide their cigarettes, or they really want to change.) Once a smoker, always a smoker, most often than not.

I like the idea of a story from the enthusiats side and not from a director who knows nothing about cars... But I don't really like the title you thought up... It sounds kind of... To obvious and too much. It'd be like a movie on a bunch of honda guys who only use body kits and no performance parts and call the movie "Ricers." Lol.
One thing I can say, is go with something along what other car movies have done. Things that sounds cool. "Gone In Sixty Seconds," make's people wonder, what's gone in sixty seconds? How is it gone? What does gone in sixty seconds mean exactly (symbolically). Torque for example deals with cars and cycles, while not exactly emplying so. Torque can be used on many things like campers and stuff. But here you have a name on a movie you know is about bikers... That sounds cool. Go for something not so obvious is my opinion... If you have "A street racers life," or something along those lines you are likely to get negative feedback I believe and people will say "This is a Ricey Movie I bet." It's kind of like when you mention the movie the fast and furious... You can't tell me you don't think of rice? :-P Well, I do anyways. And while it's not only rice, that's the meaning you get. You have to consider... The title is what draws the people... It's one of the first things people pay attention to when seeing a preview of a movie. Why do you think everyone knows the name of the movie when everyone else asks, "What are you going to see this summer?" The title has to have the most lasting impact... Else you have nothing. It's just as important as the storyline believe it or not...
Damn... I should write something. :-P

gone in 60 seconds is what car thiefs use to describe how they did a theft as for the movie i actually enjoyed it don't ask why becuase i won't tell you

i like modding of cars, for more horse, while im not the best at it, i dont boast i know a lot about cars, which is why i come here for a lot of advice from a lot of people that know more than me, cause i respect those people. personally i like fnf, b/c of the neon and what not, i had a drawing i made a year ago, it had a body kit, and the like, but it wasnt ment as a street/strip car, its show only, thats the only reason i liked fnf, cause it portayed many really nice flow lines.
to me, as many stated, its a movie. i like your movie idear civic...sounds like itll be a really neat movie, and i want to wish you the best of luck with it.

I don't know... Seems like it's missing something. Plus it sounds more like a movie dedicated to crime and all that stuff... Wanted sounds like a movie with a bunch of gangs trying to kill each other. :-P
Too bad "SlipStream" sounds stupid. I just thought it up, and then I was like, that's really dumb. Lol. This can be really hard... But I don't know... It depends on how you use the title in the preview... "A whole different world on the flipside. When darkness and street lights meets empty streets, a culture of excitement and adrenaline rush arises... When the hands go down, they battle it out. SlipStream." Lol.

well the movie is much darker than that, its not jsut about street racing, its about crime that comes along with it.
