almost ever car in the 70's had mag wheels as an option, but they stopped using for the reason that over time the mag would creep and the lug nuts would loose their torque, that's ok for a race car because they are always checked not good for a street car that might get checked once every 30,000 miles knowing some people.

that i did not now, but i do know that magnesium has a lot of uses in our system its a core mineral as are a lot of other things, i actually take a magnesium supplement for a small heart problem and it help a ton.
Some of the conditions magnesium may be useful in treating or preventing are:
* Aging * Aggressive Behavior * Alcoholism * Amytrophic Lateral Sclerosis * Alzheimer's Disease * Arrhythmia * Asthma * Attention Deficit Disorder * Autism * Brain Damage * Cancer * Cerebral Palsy * Cerebrovascular * Chemical Sensitivity * Chronic Fatigue * Cluster Headaches * Cocaine-related Stroke * Constipation * Cramps * Diabetes * Fibromyalgia * Fluoride Toxicity * Head Injuries, Central Nervous System Injuries * Heart Disease. Heart Attack, Atherosclerosis, Cardiovascular Disease, etc. * HIV, AIDS * Hypertension * Kidney Stones * Magnesium Deficiency * Menopause * Migraine Headache * Mitral Valve Prolapse * Multiple Sclerosis * Nystagmus * Osteoporosis * Peripheral vascular disease * Pregnancy-related problems, Eclampsia * Premenstrual Syndrome, PMS * Psychiatric Disorders * Repetitive Strain Injury * Rheumatoid Arthritis * Sickle Cell Disease * SIDS * Sports-related problems * Stress * Stuttering * Tetanus * Tinnitis, Sound Sensitivity * TMJ * Toxic Shock * Violence Magnesium is an essential mineral that is used throughout the body, affecting blood vessels, blood clotting, the transmission of impulses between nerve cells, and normal muscle activity. It plays a very important role in heart health and energy metabolism. In fact, a magnesium deficiency can lead to muscle weakness and chronic fatigue and may promote atherosclerosis (blocked arteries), cause hypertension (high blood pressure), trigger arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat), and increase the risk of heart attack and stroke.

who cares? I do, as well as everyone else who owns a corvette or plans to get one. and this is a situation not about opinion, so then there is a right person and a wrong" person, either it lights on fire with a lighter or not. I say a huge chunk of magnesium won't burn with a lighter (I've even provided links to sites about it), and I'm right. The wrong person should grow up and just admit it.
You have your points and I have my points. You like to read sources from the internet, that may not be legit. I prefer experimenting or watching someone experiment in front of me. Hands on is more acceptable than reading sources...While I beleive that, you may not, and I can't change you for that... You can beg to differ and say I'm wrong, but then again, that's what you believe and don't know... You just think you know...
And you said "I say a huge chunk of magnesium won't burn with a lighter." What you want to say and what you believe is totally different from what actually happens. You said this is nothing about opinions... Well what you said just sounded like your opinion, correct me if I'm wrong. ;-)
And maybe you didn't understand... But this whole time, I was talking about magnesium... Magnesium only! Lol. Not wheels, not frame or chassis parts... None of that. Just magnesium. If you can light a small strand of magnesium with a lighter, you can obviously do it with a larger pieces... It may take longer to actually light it, since it's larger, but it's common sense that it'll ignite eventually...
And for the record, mag wheels can catch on fire. I'm not saying it's by a lighter. I highly doubt it... But they do catch on fire, and they are a pain in the @$$ to put out... They either let it burn out or bury it like civicking explained further back. I don't know this from personal experience, but just from friends who know people in the firefighter business.

Wow. I would've though magnesium could be harmful... Good stuff civicking. How does it help with violence though? Does it calm the individual down or something so they won't be violent?

those aren't exactly *** sources. They are legit, and they all say the same thing and they are correct. I started out with opinions, then I read up about it, then turned to fact.
