For all Caliber SRT-4 owners, Chrysler and SRT and all their holy wisdom have bestowed upon us the first in a series of Staged upgrades for the new SRT-4. It features a desensitized torque management system, more boost and better throttle response. Power will be raised from the stock 285hp to 310-315 and torque from 265 ft-lbs to 320ft-lbs. This is the ticket to low 13's for $400. These numbers are just for cars with the new ECU and colder spark plugs. Bolt-on cars will show even higher, some trial use guys with full exhausts and intakes have seen nearly 330whp. Combine this with fact that she don't hate boost controllers  and aftermarket wastegates anymore and you have a winner. Sorry MS3 guys

the ms3 still looks way, way, way better.  The caliber is just ugly in every way.

seriously the neon was still no looker, but at least a million times better looking than the caliber.  The caliber.  I think I would rather take an Aztec or a PT cruiser.  No I think i would just rather do the honorable think and take the blade to my stomach.

This is coming from an EVO owner, which by the way is no sleeping beauty either. If you wan't pretty go over to Super Street. If you wan't info on bolting on a 45whp ECU upgrade for a car that would easily stomp a stock EVO on the street look here.

You are probably the same jerks who complained about the Neon being ugly. The fact is its a Dodge, its American and many of you import drivers are closet America haters. I owned a EVO 8, a MS3 NSRT-4 and a Real JDM Silvia S14 when I was in Okinawa. I can tell you right now, the Caliber might not excel or dominate anyone of those cars but it sure as hell can do alot of thing those cars cannot do. Also have you actually seen a CSRT-4 in person, It definitely looks better than a Mazdaspeed 3 Which has almost no cosmetic difference compared to my girlfriend's regular Mazda3 (She thinks the MS3 is "cute")

Did you just tell the smartest person here to go to SuperStreet?! Oh! Oh, my brain is self destructing... (What would he talk about?...)

I think Dodge went for the All bells and whistles on the on this model SRT. I mean some cues work like the hood vents, and interior. But don't get me wrong, some things just stand out more. Like: the fact that it looks a like like a Compass and who ever said that a Jeep was fast. (I like the Neon SRT-4 more, but I didn't think Dodge had any more money to create a more appealing "Car" than what Car and Driver Called "Crossover"), the not-so-pleasant technosquare look, and the huge rims to that... Dodge needs a Hatch a real Hot Hatch not leftovers with Tabasco sauce.

Dodge was the first to make us want to buy a domestic in this "Import" dominated world of ours and I hope that they can survive to make another, but for the moment I would say "Next time..."

I think the Mazdaspeed 3 is pretentious by the way... something just don't seem right about it. I look at the regular and I say "yes!"

I'm actually not an evo owner, just to let you know, i wish i was though, ask me if i have one in 6 months.  And the evo isn't the most beautiful car, but the evo has way more appeal.  Years of rally heritage, awd, and the tried and true 4g63.  I don't care that much about looks, but i don't want something that is just plain ugly.  But eye of the beholder i guess.  I don't disagree that performance is pretty much the most important, but the csrt-4 just doesn't look right.  I like factory trick, unfortunately it looks like the designing rights for the caliber srt-4 went to super street.  And I don't dislike domestics.  I'm also considering a cobalt ss when i car shop.  Dodge has nothing (the neon srt-4 was a good car), and unless ford comes with the focus rs to the states then only chevy has something good to offer.

And smartest person mastershake, i wouldn't say that.  Besides when's the last time i can say i cleaned gunked up turbos with diesel and then preceded to trash my fore mentioned merc. diesel

All I can say is "You learn allot when you don't know what you're doing..." LOL! and hey a gallon of diesel was cheaper than that 17 dollar carburetor cleaner.

Your entire upper midsection will get totally black in sludge at the end and no it won't come off your clothes...

All the fast sports compact cars (evo, sti, ms3, csrt/nsrt-4 are all pretty ugly cars.  I drive an 05 slightly modded SRT-4 and let me tell you all the cars are pretty unattractive until you throttle those little bastards and they go --- like a rocket!  Personally I like the CSRT-4 numbers (1/4 mi and power-wise) but i think for me, getting the neon was a bit of a stretch in the looks department and i couldnt make the jump to get an even more unattractive Caliber.

To all C-SRT4 hater, this is an message from the owner of a Nissan 300ZX and BMW M3. My old 300zx look 100 times better but it is slower and cost $20K more back in 1990. My M3 is faster, look better and more comfortable but it cost a fortune. I bought a SRT4 because it is cheap, fast, easy to upgrade, 4 doors, cargo spaces and better fuel mileage. It also has a much more agreesive look than the regular caliber and the polish 19" RIM outshine my BMW rim. The SRT4 is a budget street racer that has a boxy American muscle car look which distinguish itself from the import. Another $400 ECU upgrade and we got 310hp and a low 13. You want a better looking car, I can sell you my BMW Z3! Since the SRT4 is still selling in good number, lot of these onwers will disagree with the comments of some SRT4 hater.

It is funny to me read these posts when people talk about performance and how one car is ugly and another car is beautiful. It is all matter of preference. The thing is that caliber srt4 is probably the best car in the segment available. It is probably slower than or same as MS3. It will lose to evo and sti. But there is something that everyone forgets. This car is a hatch so you get great utility. Only MS3 is close but a bit smaller. It is the only one of performance cars that will go on regular. It gets over 32 on highway and very reasonable in city. Car insurance is cheap because it is not considered a performance car. I know many will make fun of my arguments but wait until you have a family and you are spending your own money on a car.  At last this car costs a lot less than evo and sti. MS3 costs the same but other parameters are not close. So here you go. Love it or hate it but this car is a great compromise for people who think about other things other than bragging.
